solid kolsch here brewed with local grain, very full character on the malt side for being so pale, a nice showcase of that, crisp and drinkable, refreshing and easy without being boring in the least, and one of the better beers ive had from this place overall, its been many years. very very light in color, less than yellow with high clarity and racy carbonation collecting in a half inch of white head from the tap, quick fade on that but it stays feisty on the carbonation the whole time. aroma is beautiful, fresh and german for sure, but distinctive on the grain side too, lightly nutty, mineral forward, baked without being caramelized or toasty or rich really, just more interesting than the standard in this style, somewhat grassy maybe even before the hops are considered, extremely fresh overall, crisp and with that cold conditioned quickness, nice attention to detail apparent in this, and the flavor is clean and snappy too, with a lot of personality from the malt for how light this is, pils-esque and still with a european aspect to it, but with more going on, light dough, drop biscuit, husk and hull but not heavy, and so cleanly fermented too. very minimal body, lively mouthfeel, refreshing and easy, and i think technically quite impressive as well, another level of quality here than i recall from their other beers ive had. one to be proud of, a very well crafted kolsch!

Appearance: Pours a clear golden color with just under a finger's head; decent retention and squiggles of lacing

Smell: Stone fruit esters from the ale yeast are apparent and matched by a pilsner crispness

Taste: The bready crispness and stone fruit favors merge, right away, and stay blended into the finish; though the malt edges out, at the end

Mouthfeel: Light body with moderate carbonation

Overall: Would like to see this one be a bit crisper right through to the finish

Thanks, JohnGalt1, for the opportunity
