Had this little beauty at the brewpub, took a walk around the nearby Katy Trail and forgot to returrn for a growler. I'm kicking myself now.
Slightly hazy gold with an ivory head that lasts fairly well.
Nose is of good clean maltyness with a nice big whiff of Saaz.
It's light and refreshing, a joy to drink and with plenty of character to keep you interested, there's a nice taste of french vanilla, a slight wheaty (!?) sharpness and good clean bready sweetness all hanging out with the hops. While the malt character in this bad boy is great on it's own, it's especially nice as a showcase for the beauty and deliciousness that is Saaz.
Really a nice pils, I wish these guys were bigger and available in St. Louis. Oh well, gives me a reason to travel to wine country more often.
