On tap at brewery:
A hazy pale gold with a tan hue that comes about as the light shifts. Head is sustained fairly well and lacing occurs.
Nose is ripe tropical, leaning towards overripe. There’s a honey sweetness but an herbal counter. As it warms, this adds a bit of classic onion/garlic/dare I say catty aromas to it. While I might’ve dreaded them at I time, I welcome them nowadays, and they're not overpowering in this beer.
Opening of the taste is drier than expected, crackery malt with a weak tropical fruit salad flavor. A little toasted to nutty aspect grows, as does the hop flavors. Herbal to citrus pithy, it brings a little bite countered by a not to be forgotten ripe tropical note.
An interesting beer that has some clean and dirty aspects, some malt and hoppy aspects, some tropical and old school bitter hop aspects. To me, this trends to where I like a “more” fruity IPA to go.
