Aenne is our hoppy Saison. Brewed with a good amount of Styrian Golding hops in the coolship. Notes of citrus, pine and green tea.

Had on tap. Cloudy yellow body with a giant white foam head yet almost no lacing. Aromas of various botanicals from the hops atop waves of grainy yeast with white pepper, peach, lemon and orange. Taste has more of a biscuit complexion from the yeast getting away from the grain, citrus and peach in the middle, but still plenty hoppy, like wow this has resin with pine and herbs it is so hoppy, almost has a green tea like finish with considerable astringency. Yeasty medium body with hops textures cutting in with decent carbanion. Like a fantome that isn't as refined

Pours a slightly cloudy, pale golden amber coloration with a medium, fluffy, lasting head that leaves plenty of fluffy lacing as it slowly recedes. Smells of biscuity, slightly grainy malt, fruity/spicy esters and herbal/earthy hops, with notes of tangerine, apricot, clove, pepper and just a hint of pine. Taste is a great balance of biscuity, slightly grainy malt, fruity, spicy yeast esters and herbal, earthy, spicy and slightly resinous hops, with notes of tangerine, apricot, clove, white pepper, hay, lemongrass, green tea and pine. Finishes with a light sweetness and tartness, as well as some tangerine, clove, lemongrass, green tea and pine lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.

This is quite a hoppy Saison that still leaves the esters enough room to breathe though, kinda making it hard to tell where the fruity and spicy esters end and the hops begin, although those hops also bring some quite herbal, earthy and resinous accents to this as well, making for a rather complex and well-balanced Saison that brings distinct notes of lemongrass, green tea and pine to the table, as well as fruity citrus and stone fruit accents and hints of clove and peppery spice. Overall this makes for a very enjoyable with a great balance and depth of character that still manages to drink easy and refreshing, just like a good Saison should.
