Appearance - Pours with a slight haze and mostly orange in color. Off-white, near finger width head that displays fair retention before giving way to a thin, consistent layer of suds across the surface. A few small spots make up the lacing.
Smell - The aroma is strawberry that is slightly tart, and slightly sweet and cut a bit by floral notes, light grain and some citrus.
Taste - Follows the nose. Juicy tart and sweet strawberry upfront and throughout, but the light presence of a solid grainy malt bill keeps it in check. Lesser notes of floral and citrus character hit by mid-taste, while the finish is a berry affair with a hint of citrus pith in the background.
Mouthfeel - Light-to-medium in body with moderate carbonation. Slick, easy drinker with a semi-dry finish. If they were going for 'brut' style on the mouthfeel, it's not quite as crisp and dry as maybe it should be?
Overall - Pretty damn good. This is a concept that maybe could have gone way overboard on the sweetness, but they do a fantastic job of keeping relatively balanced. Blonde base was the right call, though a bit of caramel or toasted malt may have made it a bit more interesting? What do I know. Pretty damn good as is.
