From tasting notes 12/4/20
Had on-tap at Burning Barrel Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Opaque and deep purple in color. Thin, broken ring of pink suds cling around the sides.Fair lacing, with thin, broken webbing, lines and tiny spotting decorating the glass.
Smell - Berries stand out on the nose, along with a distinct milky aroma. Hints of toffee and hazelnut, which add a suggestive touch of Cap'n cereal.
Taste - Follows the nose. Tart. Berry dominant profile, then lesser notes of the "Cap'n" cereal character break through, becoming more prominent as the brew warms, but never hitting with full distinction. Splash of milkiness on the finish, which hangs in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel - Near full-bodied with fair, tingly carbonation. Smooth, slick and creamy texture lends to easy drinking before a lightly dry finish.
Overall - Really tasty brew. While not as reminiscent of the Cap'n flavor as the previous iteration, Strawberry Crunch, I found this one more enjoyable to drink.
