Had on-tap at Burning Barrel Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in a clear, solo type pint cup, opaque and pure, bright orange in color. Barren surface, no lacing.
Smell - Tart tangerine and cream in the nose. Faint trace of anise and earth.
Taste - Prominent tangerine upfront and throughout, with lesser cream, but picking up hints of those distracting off-notes of earthen chocolate and a trace of anise.
Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with fair, tingly carbonation. Drinks smooth enough with a slightly dry finish.
Overall - Something about some of these Creamin' series beers doesn't sit right with my taste buds, especially on these heavily, single-fruited releases. Is it the marshmallow sauce being used? The flavors here aren't as off-putting as the Peach Creamin', but maybe because tangerine delivers with a stronger punch than does peach? While not bad, I also won't be ordering this one again.
