Drinking as part of a flight.
Pours a moderately dark mahogany with a fair head.
Smell is weak. Traces of roasted malts.
Ok mouth feel.
Taste is not very strong. Not what you expect for s porter.

decent porter base here, well constructed from a grain standpoint, and probably the second least offensive beer on their menu in our experience, right behind the sour, which is not to say its the second best, if you catch my drift. its dark, near black, coal colored and pretty heady, with a nice luster to it, visually appealing for sure. i like the roast to it, pretty deep, and some nice bitterness from it, without the caramel middle balance so many of these play it safe and build in. i also like the coffee nuance to it, but sadly, it has the same messed up fermentation profile as their others, albeit to a lesser degree, but this is still heavily flawed beer that i cant finish. i rate this slightly higher with the idea that its potential is high, and its not way off, after all, aside from the ferment, its great porter. i pray that they get it figured out, this is less brutal than the ipa and the lager, but its the same chemical and cleaner thing, past phenolic, oddly a tannic blueberry thing to me to. full of potential so i wont entirely write it off yet...
