Slightly hazed pale yellowish grey brew with a wisp of foam in the snifter. Faint yeasty, acidic smell. A ghost of fruit flavor before the bitter yeasty taste takes over. I'm sure this is quite well made, if you like this sour style of Saison. It's actually trying to be a white wine, but unaccountably bitter and gone sour. From the 16 oz can, not dated.

rustic saison here in the table beer range, refermented on nectarines and can conditioned, super interesting and funky wild type saison here, amazing fruit character, texture, complexity, and frankly affordability for what this is, in a single pint can, the first i have seen from them not in bottles. its straw colored, very effervescent, nice conditioning for sure, light haze, high rising fizzy white head that settles back to a lasting half inch. smells like drippy ripe nectarines, so pure as to be distinct even from peaches, no confusion here whatsoever, light oak it seems, white wine wrapped up in that, plenty of brett, and a old world farmy saison vibe too, some esters and light spiciness in here along with the funk. the flavor of the nectarines is as impressive as the nose, and so awesome with this really wild bretty profile, more mature than i have come to expect from a canned beer, unless your name is jolly pumpkin. there is even an almost lambic wrinkle to this, a reach i know, but its wild like that, just awesome. the fruit is never really sweet but juicy and ripe and high summer the whole way, and there is a neat white wine sharpness on the swallow. i can taste some wheat too, maybe some raw wheat, perhaps even a little rye spice in there, and the texture is bone dry and effervescent. incredible liquid, some of the best can conditioning ive seen in ages, and a really clever brew overall. need more from dwinell!
