From a 473ml can dated 05/13/25 into a pint glass. A one finger off white head on a hazy amber gold. The head soon diminishes to a layer. Some patchy lacing.
Citrus in the nose. Tangerine and orange. tastes of fruit up front with a bready malt backbone. Again citrus hops. Some citrus pith. A moderate hop finish.
A smooth mouthfeel. Medium body and carbonation. Overall a solid American IPA.

Tallboy from the LCBO; dated May 16 2023 and served slightly chilled. Also, this might be the freshest can I've ever bought at any LCBO, ever.
Pours a bright, clear golden-yellow colour, with one finger of loose, soapy white head gathered atop. Within two or three minutes, it degrades to a creamy collar and sudsy cap, with a full curtain of lovely lace draped against the glass. The aroma is comprised of gritty, grainy pale malts and biscuity sweetness, with hints of grapefruit, tropical fruit and earthy, herbal hops.
A classic IPA: fruity at first, bitter on the back end. Hints of passion fruit, grapefruit and orange peel, with background notes of bready malts, honey sweetness and wheaty whole grain. Earthy hops, citrus pith and resiny bitterness on the back end; citrusy aftertaste that doesn't linger. Medium in body, with assertive carbonation that remains crisp and lively throughout the session, aiding its overall drinkability - I could easily drink a couple of these in a row.
Final Grade: 3.8, a B+. Over the past few years, I've been reviewing hazy/New England IPAs more often than any other style... but that's only because they're so abundant. I really do prefer old school IPAs, like Stonepicker's Hack 'N' Slash - and don't get me wrong, this isn't a brilliant IPA or anything like that, but it's still an impressively solid brew coming from one of Ontario's more obscure craft beer operations. If they keep stocking it, I'll keep buying it - and even if they don't, I'll still be heading up to Forest at some point this summer to check this place out.
