Ground Control to Major... personifies the 2Toms story. Home Brew to Brewery in less than 3 years has truly felt like a rocket to space. While I dreamed of being an astronaut as a kid, I never imagined a brewery would be part of this life journey.

We love Galaxy hops in this double dry hopped IPA. The hops oil content is unmatched provided aromas and notes of pungent citrus and passion fruit.

A - Pours a hazy rusty orange with a sturdy white head. Tons of soapy lacing.

S - Aroma is passionfruit, orange and grapefruit.

T - The taste is orange, passionfruit, grapefruit, bready malts and piney hops.

M - Medium body with medium carbonation. Creamy mouthfeel with a soft crisp finish.

O - Pretty solid NEPA. Nice and easy drinking.

Bought a can from Tavour.
A young brewer (only two years old!) produces a well-balanced NEIPA. This is almost a headline and certainly a rarity as young brewers usually try too hard to amp-up the hops and malts to coverup, perhaps, their inexperience.

But 2Toms did a good job with Major. I'm Looking at a NEIPA that keeps its foam well. Smells are less ambitious... but aromas are the easy money in this style. Tastes are balanced, particularly the bitter hops being moderated. In the mouth, this is soft with gentle bubbles.

As for my brewer review, it is hard to be hard on a young brewer. It pushes the standard "community" buttons. (And Fort Wayne continues to get love in this 21st century, but can use more.) 2Toms' taproom also serves food. Bravo to them for doing their part.

A: The beer is very hazy yellow in color. It poured with a finger high off white head that died down, leaving lots of lacing on the surface and the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of grapefruit and passionfruit are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell but has strong flavors of passionfruit along with hints of grapefruit and orange citrus. Only a slight amount of bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels medium-bodied and a little juicy on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I really enjoyed the strong flavors of passion fruit in the taste of this beer
