From a can.
Pours true to style, a clear gold. The smoke is upfront but it doesn’t overwhelm. Light whisper of a summer campfire on the sip. Delightful.

Very pleasant amount of smoke which I'll call a modest amount. I get some nutmeg flavor from it.

Clear, light gold colored body; nice strings of carbonation; huge head, white and billowy, long lasting, densely spongy with thick sticky strings and rings of foam inside the glass. Very pleasant aroma; mild and persistent smokiness; light toasted grain note; light hop spiciness. The taste builds on the aroma; light grain sweetness; a suggestion of honey; nice even-keeled smokiness that doesn't overpower the other flavors; mildly zesty spiciness adds depth. Medium-heavy body; mild velvety texture; lightly sticky; begins with a light sweetness and finishes with a whisper of dryness.
This beer certainly resembles some classic German smoked beers. The use of beechwood for the smoke flavor is evident. It's not as strong as, say, a Brauerei Heller-Trum Urbock or Märzen, but it has unmistakable like qualities with the flavors. A top-notch rauchbier.

The pour was a translucent amber color that was capped with a 2” bone white head.
The aroma was lost on my Covid damaged nose.
The taste started with beachwood smoke and some malt bready flavors. As it warmed a little the noble hops became noticeably present. There is a light bitter edge at the swallow, which makes me want to take another sip.
OA, oddly not refreshing, but very pleasant, providing you like the style. Waypost did good here.

Bottle opened with a huge hiss and 0.4 liter glass filled half way with thick rich head. Slight cloudiness to straw-colored beer. Full, clean nose with nice smoky malt. Well-made and well-balanced rauchbier with definite smoke flavor but not overpowering. Nice hop finish that is balanced. Some CO2 astringency in mouthfeel due to high carbonation. I wish I had more!
