Pours black with a finger and a half of khaki foam. Head retention is great. Aroma is roasty, toasty, nutty, earthy malts with a chary bite. Chocolate and toffee tease a little sweetness. Flavor profile is roasty, toasty, nutty, earthy, caramely malts with a green pepper bite. Coffee is present, but distant with a roasty quality. Chocolate and toffee add a little sweetness. Mouth feel is medium in thickness with a delicate, oblong effervescence, meaning it feels a touch uneven with the way it settles. Overall, stout is solid with coffee coming over the top, but just barely so.
Served in a 15.5oz Speigalau tulip from a 22oz bottle.

Pint filled at Barrels & Vines on Apr 9, 2019.
Pour: dark brown/black, minimal head, thick ring, slight lacing
Nose: very subtle dark chocolate, coffee
Taste: bitter dark chocolate, coffee, burnt toffee. Slightly metallic taste. Nothing really jumps out so balanced but feel like it’s missing something. It was ok but didn’t really love it.
Mouthfeel: low carbonation, somewhat pillowy.
Overall: ok but nothing I would buy again. Maybe a little too bitter for me and the slight metallic taste is a turnoff. Won’t be buying again.
