A - Pours pitch black with a large tan head. Light amount of soapy lacing. Light amount of clingy lacing.
S - Aroma is coffee and roasted malts.
T - The taste is roasted malts, black coffee, toasted biscuit and noble hops.
M - Medium body with medium carbonation. Soft mouthfeel with a nice crisp finish.
O - My first experience with a black pilsner. Interesting mix of dark roasty flavors with a traditional German pilsner.

This was interesting. A dark Pilsner; a style that is normally straw yellow and transparent. So okay, outside the proverbial box.
Poured dark, black even. The ambitious head was brown and dissipated slowly.
The aroma was faint for me, which is normal. And it’s not that I couldn’t smell anything, but I couldn’t define what I did smell.
The taste was a bit on the bitter side, which is normal for the German Pilsner style, but what I was tasting was not Noble hops but an almost dark coffee flavor. Tasty really, just not sure I’d call it a Pilsner.
The feel was good, if I hadn’t been trying to define the taste I would have almost slammed this.
