2+ week old can poured into a tulip glass.
Lighter coloring and haze than most of their NE IPAs, perhaps intentional given the “Vermont style” labeling? Nice initial bright white head that’s a little fizzy and fizzles out quite quickly. Minimal lacing.
I get a tropical fruit blast up front, then a wave of citrus juice, followed by a heavy but lovely white wine /green grape note. Very grassy, a familiar characteristic in Arvon beers, but not green. Some stone fruit, melon, and a little dankness late. As the beer warms the wine element really shines — mix of Prosecco and Pinot Grigio. Mild, balanced, and very well crafted.
I’m used to a lot of sweetness in Arvon hazies, often stemming from lactose, but this one is very dry. Again paying tribute to the Vermont (read: Alchemist) style? This beer isn’t at that level, but it’s quite good. Consistent with the nose, I get a lot of pithy citrus, light tropical fruits, dry Riesling, grassy greens (but not at all starchy or chalky — thank you!), a little pine resin, and a wonderful lasting bitterness at the end. Sometimes I’m in the mood for semi-sweet hazies, and sometimes I’m in the mood for bitterness and pith. This is a milder version of the latter that is incredibly drinkable, especially on a hot day. Really tight and we’ll done, and I appreciate an ABV that starts with “6.”
Plenty soft and silky but understandably thinner given the 6.5% ABV and focus on Vermont versus murkier NE IPA interpretations. But wonderfully (almost perfectly) coating, providing a lasting bitterness, pithiness, and pucker.
This thing got better and better as I drank it. Perhaps it just fit the mood (pre-dinner beer after a hot day in the sun at the lake) perfectly. Not going to blow a whale-hunting haze bro away, but I think it’s a really well crafted beer.

ONE PINT can
Served in a stemless wine glass
This beer pours a dirty yellow color and is turbid. It is topped with a couple inches of beige head that leaves nice lacing.
Dank aroma with citrus and pine notes.
Dank flavor with bitter grapefruit and pine. Bitter finish.
Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel
It is nice to have a bitter NE style IPA for a change. Just had a sweet one before this beer. This is nice.
