Inspired by our friend, Ant Blair of the Mo Head Y'all podcast and his love for the West Coast OG style of IPA’s, this in-your face, double dry hopped IPA features heaping doses of cascade & centennial hops in both the primary & secondary fermentations.

16oz can
canned on 04/13/2022
L: slightly hazy amber body; thick and persistent off-white head leave chunky lacing on the glass
S: toasty grain, bread crust, caramel, earthy pine, pithy & floral citrus
T: nutty & toasted grain, caramel malt, floral grapefruit, earthy pine
F: medium body, ample carbonation, sticky & resinous, very dry finish, pungent pine and grapefruit zest lingers
O: I liked this but I didn’t. Raw (?) is the word that comes to mind. The flavors don’t seem to meld together - lots of malt character with a big hop profile, but the two just don’t seem to jive.

Had Switchyard's West Coast IPA, my first canned beer from the brewery, poured from pint can, no date, into nonic pint.
Pours amber-gold with clarity and 2-finger, creamy, very light-tan head, with excellent retention, leaving thick Belgian lace down the glass. Big fruity West Coast aroma off the pour, turning and continuing piney and resinous as warms. Begins dry, a bit fruity, and then a little sweet malt, before big piney hops lead into a biting, bone-dry finish.
Authentically West Coast, but a little light on the fruit, especially in the flavor, and not quite big and bitter enough to make up the difference.
