It's color is not typical of an American lager, but it's right in line with the Vienna style of the brew. Into a clear glass Imperial pint mug went the contents of a pint can, now awaiting observation and consumption. The color of the beer is a reddish amber, bright, pretty and somewhat translucent. The aroma is modestly hoppy and malty in the familiar lager way. The taste is modestly hoppy and malty in the familiar lager way. What sets this way above adjunct American lagers is its body. Not to denigrate the taste, as it's as fully complete and balanced as any lager you'll try, but the body is outstanding. From the commonwealth where lager is colloquial for a mass produced Yuengling product, this really raises the bar. It's delicious and probably at least as good as Sam Adams' Boston Lager.

Nice, clear copper color with an off-white head that falls quickly to a ring. Smell is malty, bready, a hit of spicy hops. Taste follows nose, but a flavor is a bit muted. Sweet at first, but spicy hops with a bit of bitterness balances out the finish. Feel is medium with decent carbonation. Overall, nothing ground breaking, bit a decent, fresh beer.

This beer pours a clear, black tea, copper color. It's look resembles an effervescent iced tea. There is an inital moderate head of caramel color, but it dissipated very quickly. The aroma is pleasantly fruity: think cherry or apple, but very subtle. The taste is spicy and slightly sweet, with a bit of bitterness. I also detect the taste of fresh bread. There is a sticky or syrupy mouthfeel. A nice session lager.

Slightly hazed copper-amber with two fat fingers of airy tan head. Spotty lacing.
Bready malt in the nose, walking the line between sweet and yeasty. Maybe a slight metallic element as well.
Sweet, bready, toasty malt up front in the taste gives way to a yeasty, metallic dryness and modest bitterness in the finish. There’s a hint of nut mid-palate.
Medium bodied and somewhat chewy feeling with modest carbonation.
This is a fine beer, but not a great value for the money.

This brew pours a nice bold amber with minimal foam and lacing.
The aroma is also a full bold aroma with some dark fruits and malts.
As for taste it is slightly less than expected, but still very nice with a snap to it that follows right thru til the Smith full finish.
Overall a nice full beer to enjoy...no question.

10/15/19...medium dark amber with virtually no foam. Nutty nose. Vanillas and hazelnut. Toffees. Taste is a crisp buttery burnt vanilla malt. Quite toasty. With a bitter that holds but stays mellow. Really flavorful. body w/ peppy carbonation. Outstanding.
