A by-the-books Dunkel boasting a sweet base balanced with bitter, roasty malt, caramel, and corn grits. Crushable.

Pours a murky, dishwasher-brown body capped with a finger and a half of creamy, pale beige foam; good head retention leaves a slight cap, large, frothy collar, and waves of chunky, webby lafing caked comprehensively across the walls of the glass.
Aromas of sweet caramels awkwardly contrast sarsaparilla as firmer tones of pumpernickel dough appear against a nutty malt subtext and extensive minerality developing over time.
Taste opens to black bread biscuit and deeper accents of pumpernickel toast, with a familiar nutty malt undertone steadily reducing to cola as the profile progresses.
Mouthfeel shows lighter body and thinner textures, with a choppy fluff of moderate carbonation trending pillowy before a mineralic prickle over the mid-palate and a back end grit, drying stiffly through the finish.
Weak and spotty, promising aromatics quickly give way to a messy profile rife with off-malt subtext and prominent thinness; a barely passable barebones style presentation.
