Clear dark amber brew with plenty of foam in the fancy IPA glass. Aroma is a little woody, a hint of orange, some leaf mold. Flavor is a little nutty, with a dark walnut skins finish. You wouldn't call it fruity, though there is something like blackberry along with the seeds.
The body is light but there is some malty flavor like brown bread, dark crackers. Bitterness is modest, with more of an astringent woodsy aftertaste. I'm thinking more of an English ESB with a dive in the dark end. It's quite drinkable and interesting, even off-beat. From the 32 oz growler filled at the brewery taproom by the strip that is said to be the Camano Island airport.
