RBSG09 Grand Tasting notes. Thanks to everyone there.
A standout for the night (and there was a lot of competition at the tasting). Great flavor combination dominated by sour cherries and a lasting finish of pomegranates and wood. Heavy for a lambic with caramel malt shining through the sour fruit, unusual for a kriek, but it worked for me. Appearance was a reddish brown with a nice enough head for a lambic. The sourness isn't too intense although there is a healthy vinegar flavor to it. Some brett flavor.

Sampled at the Stone Sour Fest today, this was a lambic aged with sour cherries and pomegranates, then it was fermented in an American Oak white wine barrel for one year
A-Mix between amber and brown color, pinkish in the light, small 1/4 inch white head, not much retention, no lacing
S-Cherries, rye, other bready malts, figs, caramel, brown sugar, sournesss, oak, and citrus
T-Mildly sour, lots of fruit, mostly cherries like you would expect, faded into some nice malt in the middle at times, finish had wood in it, acidic at times but mostly a pleasant fruity flavor
M-Sweet and sour mouthfeel, medium to full bodied, got tangier as it warmed, taste lasted a while, nice level of carbonation
D-Could have drank more but there was other beers to sample, light on the stomach for the most part, ABV was not too high, smooth
Have not had many krieks but this was thicker than other ones I remembered, still rather good, pomegranates were a nice addition and they were very apparent in the aftertaste, this was rather different but still enjoyable, glad I did not trade for this one after tasting it today because people were asking a lot for it, still a complex Kriek that was very different than any I have had in the past
