6 ounce bottle, thanks to Steve for handbottling this for me, batch one, this is the second time I have had this one now, poured into a tulip glass at the LA BA Gathering, share with cquiroga and chefscott79
A-Medium red with some brown highlights, a bit murky, no head, which means no lacing or retention to be worried about, sure is nice to look at though
S-Malt vinegar, raspberries, cherries, funkiness, tartiness, wild yeast, lots of oak, and soft malt, nice smelling Flemish Red-style brew
T-Starts off with some light sugary tones, then fades into some acidic vinegar-like flavors, ends with cherries and other sour fruits, lots of brettanomyces and lactobacillus in there for sure, settles down a little bit once it warms, more oak and vinegar later on than before, some sweet caramel later on to go with the funk, really liked how this rounded out and came together, great flavor for its strength
M-Light, acidic, sour, and slightly sweet mouthfeel, medium to full bodied, not carbonated and that was for the better in my opinion, taste lingers nicely
D-Could not drink tons of this stuff but a good amount, a bit heavy on the stomach, few ounces went down real well though, ABV is extremely low, very tasty and inviting
Here is a description for the beer: "This started as an English Mild, prior to hopping the wort it was cooled and transferred into a fermenter and a blend of three Belgian strains of Pedio, Brett and Lacto were added. The beer was entirely fermented in the wild state and aged for 2 years."
What a great beer, batch two will be released soon and then both batches will be blended, cannot wait to try that, this beer deserves some attention and it is truly fantastic, will be drinking again hopefully, highly recommended
