This was my second choice at the Stone Sour Fest 09 and my favorite of the day. It seems like this base beer is a Wheat Wine that was aged in Cabernet Sauvignon and Port barrels from Costamonga winery.
Poured a color of dried orange peel with a big, foamy, head and some lacing on the glass. Nice looking beer.
Cheesy, phenolic, apples, nectarines, some grassy or herbal notes, grapes and sourness. Pretty good aroma.
Wow, the taste was darn good. Very cheesy and leathery on the palate, hints of cherries, kiwi, light toast, and very funky. Some hay flavors later on. Very delightful. Nice acidity. Super cheesy and funkadelic. Soft carbonation with an intense dry finish. Not too acidic on the stomach and pretty easy to drink. Would love to have again. Surprised this one was high in alcohol.
