Enjoyed a 5.5 oz. pour on tap at Beachwood BBQ during Sourfest 09'.
A: Extremely bubbly...champagne-like I guess with a hazy mix of peach and dark cherry hues.
S: A coffee aroma that is backed up berry notes...perhaps raspberry.
T: A lot of berry fruitiness and bourbon qualities upfront that transform into this very weird, unexpected... yet enjoyable chocolate and coffee backing. The flavors mix together in ways similar to those found in tobacco products...in fact, a Hookah!
M: A bolder body than one would expect that was served with ample carbonation.
D: A very weird beer that I found enjoyable, but something I wouldn't order a full glass of. I have a feeling this is going to be a hate it or love it beer for most reviewers. Again...unlike anything I've ever had.
Overall: A try it beer. Cheers!

On-tap at Beachwood BBQ,
A: Pours red with a soft white head, nice retention, cool colour.
S: Heavy acid on the first whiff, lots of fruit and some spice.
T: Major sour cherries initially, but evolves bringing notes of chocolate, capsaicin, pepper, coffee, really a lot to sort through, and it was fun trying to. Very complex.
M: This beer has 3 distinct phases of flavour, one of most pronounced mid-palates I've seen in a beer. Moderate/high acidity, great drinkability.
D: Probably my fave of the night. I'm very impressed with Valley right off the bat, never had anything from them before.

Had this interesting beer at the Stone Sour Fest 09. I just had to try this beer because of the funny name. Found this description of the beer in another site and thought it would be helpful:
"A very unique beer that will be a love or hate experience for most beer connoisseurs. The beer starts with our Central Valley Golden, Luna Blanca, aged and is soured in a bourbon barrel for one year. The barrel imparts a natural aroma of chile peppers from the use of organic rainforest coffee beans in a previous use. The Wonka effect is achieved through the addition of Scharffen Berger Cacao Nibs into the barrel. Aromas of Chile peppers, flavors of chocoalte and a dry sourness that defines this truely unique beer."
The color was a hazy pale yellow with an inch of foam on top. Nice lacing on the sides and decent head retention.
Somewhat cheesy on the nose with a bit of leather, apricots, sweet and tart lemons, a bit of pepper and spices too.
Lemon tartness initially with a bit of pale malt sweetness following closely. I get a bit of an herbal flavor, very dry in the finish. Hints of bitter and sour orange, as well as grapefruit.
Feels a bit thin and watery on the palate at the very end. Pretty refreshing though and decent beer. Quite interesting too, there was this flavor I just couldn't quite pinpoint. There was a bit of a peppery flavor but it wasn't spicy.
