On tap at Valley Brewing on 7/15/09.
A - Looks almost exactly like a stout with a dark brown body with deep amber highlights around the bottom and thin beige head that left a bit of spotty lace.
S - Roasty malt with a slight coffee presence and some leafy, earthy hop bitterness. A mild chocolate sweetness also emerged as the liquid warmed up a bit.
T - Subtle roasty character with coffee notes paired with a bit of chocolate sweetness. A nutty character emerged in the middle, adding quite a bit of dry roast to the mix. Hops are leafy and earthy and provide subtle bitterness in the finish.
M - Medium bodied wth a watery, slightly oily texture and soft carbonation. While there is a slight dryness, the finish is pretty sweet overall, with a decent amount of metallic hop bitterness on the palate.
D - Pretty solid dark lager overall. Nothing amazing, but still flavorful and tasty.
