Poured from the source into a Valley Brew pint glass.
A-Opaque. Nice mocha colored one inch head. Good retention, above average lacing.
S-Very hoppy. Mostly piney with a touch of citrus. Perhaps a hint of dark chocolate.
T-A strange (yet absolutely delightful) combination of an IPA and a Stout. First impression was of a stout's slightly toasty flavour followed by a massive piney hop blast. Aftertaste of Citrus, followed by unsweetened chocolate. Finishes dry. Pretty damn bitter. Leaves a lingering sensation of numbness at the back of your throat accompanied by the same hop flavors experienced earlier.
M-As substantial as a stout with moderate carbonation. This was a refreshing beer, one which left a hint of warmness as it made it's way down my gullet. All the while, it still retains the crispness I associate with a good IPA.
D- Not as high as it could be simply because of the high levels bitterness. However, it hides it's ABV well. A nice beer for a crisp Stockton afternoon.
