Belgian Strong Golden Ale with Pomegranate Honey.
I don't know how my local pub scored a keg of this, I guess there isn't much of this floating around out there... but well done Alehouse!
Pours a light gold color, a little cloudy, with a decent white head.
Honey is very apparent in the nose. Also a little floral, spicy, and yeasty.
Taste is sweet and I can definitely notice the honey. It's not overly sweet, it's a subtle floral sweetness, with some light caramel, and a bit creamy as well. Finish is dry, with a mineral like bite, alcohol warmth, and a slight spicy Belgian Yeast note.
Mouthfeel is nice and full.
Drinkability is good. This went don't very easy for such a strong beer, quite nice. However, a little less honey flavor and more traditional Belgian Strong Pale flavors would have balanced this out better, and made this a great beer. Still a nice offering, and worth trying.
