Received as an extra in a recent trade.

Sheesh, I am glad I did not look at the reviews of this beer before I drank it. It's a dark murky orange color and smells more of malts than it does of hops to me. No way to know how old this bottle is but I would guess that it can't be that fresh. Taste is very malt forward but not too bad. Slight hop presence helps taper the malty flavors (almost getting syrup) but not enough to really make this beer worthwhile.

On-tap at the brewpub.

A: Served a very cloudy burnt pumpkin color with a quarter inch khaki head that slowly faded into a thin collar that left pretty good sheets of lacing down the glass.
S: Smells of fresh squeezed citrus juice including grapefruits and tangerines. The smell is fresh and citrusy but not very powerful.
T: I get notes of sweet and juicy grapefruit citrus hops with some pale malt near the finish. There is a touch of tea and a bit of pine as well. The finish has a good dose of resinous bitterness and burnt caramel.
M: Medium body, normal carbonation and a slick, slightly heavy, mouthfeel.
O: This is an above average ipa and one that went well with my meal, but it nothing really to get excited about, and I’m not eager to try it again. Also, except for the lacing, this looks pretty bad in the glass.

Purchased at local (good quality) grocery store. They have good quality control with their brews so I'm not going to blame them for this. Poured into a stone nonic.

This is the first F I have ever given and may even be the last. I cannot even believe how terrible this beer is. When I popped it and smelled it I thought there was no way it could be that bad. Poured it and tasted it, and indeed it was. Smells like hopless roasted piss and tastes like it. This isn't a drain pour, this is a straight up throw-it-on-the-ground bottle break. By far the worst beer I've ever had. I'd have an amateur homebrewer attempt at recreating PBR over this.

Sorry, maybe there's something terribly wrong with my bottle, but assuming not, my ratings are generous.

Pjcked up a bottle during a visit to Davis, CA. Poured from the 22oz bottle into a pint glass. Body is a cloudy golden with some orange highlights, with lots of suspended solids, probably because of a rather careless pour. Aroma is big on bready malt and ale yeast, along with some fruity hops. Notes of pineapple and light honey provide a nice hint of sweetness.
Palate is sweet up front, with notes of tropical fruit and bready yeast. Some bitterness emerges on the swallow, leading to a nice hoppy finish, along with some warming booze.
Body is full but not thick or sticky, just about average for an American pale ale. Obviously a little thin for an IPA, but not bad. It goes down fairly easily, but is not the best constructed beer ever.
