Picked up two 16oz cans from their Smokehouse and Eatery in W.Jefferson, NC on 2022-12-08. The server said the brewer uses Kveik yeast (didn't know which culture) for nearly all brews. I'd be surprised if that's accurate.
Poured into a shaker on 2022-12-14.
Pours a very clear dark amber (left the yeast cake in the can) with a minuscule head that dissipates quickly. Lacing is nearly nonexistent.
Aroma is mildly sweet funk, a little Duvel-esque, decently malty. Not picking up any hops
Taste follows the nose with less of the Duvel character. Subtle peppery spiciness. 7.2% ABV is hidden well and not noticed in the taste.
Feel is a bit under-carbed, which might explain the head/lacing observations. A little alcohol heat is there, but nowhere near enough to be off-putting.
Overall I'm on the fence as whether I'd get this again. The aroma is the best thing going for it. If it had a tad more carbonation I'd be on board for more. I revisited my review of their Kentucky Common, where I said something similar, "Feels like a touch more carbonation would have enhanced both the aroma and flavor, but it's by no means flat. The overall rating would have been higher if it had more carbonation to add more "
So, either they have an issue with carbonation, or I like my beers fizzier.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
