Tallboy from the LCBO; dated Mar 3 2020 and served slightly chilled.
Pours just a little hazy, with a golden orange-coloured body crowned with more than a finger of soapy, foamy white head that settles off within the next several minutes. A snaking band of lace is eventually left in its wake, along with a creamy collar and thin, filmy cap; looks good to me, but the nose is too muted to be particularly interesting. I'm getting caramel malts on the nose, mixed amongst notes of melon and orange fruit cup.
A decent little pale ale - I'm tasting caramelized sugars and bready malt sweetness underneath a hop-forward blend of grapefruit, tropical fruit and mandarin orange. A bit more resiny towards the finish, with an earthy bitterness developing and lingering briefly into a spicy aftertaste that drifts towards off-dry. Its flavour grew on me as the glass continued, but the mouthfeel did not - it's starting to push past medium in body, with a bit of a bite from the carbonation, yet a slick kinda texture that is somehow not entirely satisfying. If it weren't for that, I think I'd be able to drink a few of these in a row.
Final Grade: 3.54, a B grade. Catapult's American Pale Ale is serviceable enough to be worth a try, but not much more than that. It's a technically sound APA, in that the North American hop bill is (sorta) evenly matched with a robust malt backbone, but I didn't find it to be a particularly novel or refreshing one. I'd consider picking it up again, but there's so many pale ales on the market these days that who knows if I'll ever get around to it.

473 ml can served cold into a pint glass. LCBO purchase for $3.25 CDN or so. No canning date listed.
Appearance - moderately hazy, dark golden brew with a half finger of long lasting off white head. Some sparse lacing and a decent soapy collar sticks around.
Smell - some floral notes and lightly fruity featuring melon and lychee. Quality nose that would be enhanced if it were not as subdued.
Taste - suggestion of citrus fruity with melon playing the most prominent role before an earthy bitterness comes in and sweeps that away. Petty tasty and not overtly bitter except on the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel - medium bodied, a touch gassy and a dry finish.
Overall - a pretty decent pale ale that could use a touch more fruit and slightly less assertively bitter finish. Still since offering from one of the newcomers to the Ontario Brewing scene.
