From the growler in a snifter (Thanks Jamie and Jeanette!). This mighty
brew pours a rich burnt auburn with a modest head of off white foam that
settles to a thin ring with faint lacing. Nose of plum, raisin, spicy rye, cinnamon
touches, and orange zest with a touch of clove. Flavors are excellent! Nutmeg, clove,
caramel, butterscotch, plum, raisin, toffee, spicy rye, spicy hops, herbal hops, touch of pine,
and an excellent warming finish. Nice mouth feel; medium body, smooth, light carbonation,
warming, moderately dry on the rear.
Overall----WOW, a great new barleywine!
