A: Pours a dark amber/brown color. A one finger white head forms and recedes after a minute with some lace.
S: Toasted and caramel malts. That is about it. Not particularly a lot of depth here but becomes warming after a while.
T: Eh, the toasted and caramel malts are here again, with some graininess and even some bitterness. Again, lacking some depth and nuance.
M/O: A medium body and carbonation. Fairly clean, but just kind of there. OK to drink, but they make many better offerings which I will go to before this.
The malt character is fairly generic, and not a lot of nuance. Its just a generic dark amberish beer without any real connection to an Altbier.

This beer gets better as you drink it. Had it at the brewery poured into a shaker pint. Dark amber color with good head and lacing. Subdued earthy smell. Earthy taste, malty but good bitter finish. Flavor of birch wood. Decent beer but probably not a repeater.

This is a run of the mill altbier. Very light amberish color. Slightly toasty. The flavor was lacking. I expected a more robust malty flavor. The mouthfeel was light. Overall I thought the beer was ok, but nothing to call home about.
