A: Pours a clear reddish brown color. A small white head forms, which leaves a cap all the way down. Lacing is a bit lacking.
S: A fairly neutral nose. Cereal grains, bread, cracker like malts. No hops to speak of, which could have helped with a little bit of depth.
T: Toasted malts and cereal grains. Bread and buttered toast. Buttery diacetyl. Again no hoppiness, a nice grassy hop finish would help here.
M/O: A medium body with crisp carbonation. Very dry, almost too much of a rough dryness. OK to drink once, but not something I'm going back to a lot.
The malt character is too simplistic here, and there is even some perceived (at least by me) diacetyl. I get they were going for a malty beer, but a little Noble Hop character would have helped give this a bit more depth and balance as well. A Vienna Lager can be a great thing, but this misses the mark for me.
