A: Pours with a slight haze, that clears up after a few minutes. A two finger white head forms, and recedes quickly; Light lace is left behind.
S: A big pungent aromas up front and center. A mix of citrus, orange, pineapple, and even tangerine. Kind of a fruit salad aroma but it all works, with an earthy tea like finish.
T: The fruity flavors are up front as well. Orange, citrus, pineapple, tangerine. Earthy tea like hops, and a woody flavor going on. Which I can get with IPA's. Just a touch of toasted malts, and lingering bitterness.
M/O: A medium to full body. Crisp carbonation that is smooth and clean at the same time. Finishes dry. An enjoyable IPA to come back to and drink. I like it.
Another good one from Southern Yankee. Plenty of fruity characteristics going on, without being sweet at all really. The bitterness is strong and assertive, but at the same time doesn't get in the way of my enjoyment. Which is a delicate balance of the style, and I appreciate that. Well done.
