insane to me that we still dont have a mexican lager category here on BA. this presumable has corn in it, drinks easy and summery, but isnt overly refined or dialed in to me, subtly distinct in its dryness and mineral profile, perhaps water chemistry, but not as refreshing as it could be, and beer that sort of continues a streak of decent but largely unremarkable beers from boss rambler, despite excellent branding and a cool kid yacht rock vibe overall. this is nice and dry in aroma and flavor, a faint up front sweetness, perhaps the corn there, but then almost gone in the middle, no real flavor climax, and this is one that i would almost immediately advocate for adding lime to, rare as that is for me, seems missing something without it, which is how i had my can, without. good bubbles, some wet stone sort of earthen character, and something to the ferment thats not quite a flaw, not quite familiar mexican or european lager yeast, but isnt unappealing, and with some slightly rougher edges, like its light but not that light, carbonated but not invigorating, good but not great. par for the course from these guys, an easy enough summer drinker dressed up like a budget friendly import from south of the border, but perhaps a little more flare than substance on this one. will drink this as often as its around in my world, but im not in a rush to buy it again. neat that this style is coming more and more into vogue though, even the okay ones are a good grab in the hot summer weather...
