Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a clear straw color with a one finger head of white foam. The head has a light level of retention, fading to leave a tiny bit of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell -The aroma of the brew is mostly of a corn syrup and caramel smell mixed with a bunch of graininess and some light herb. Along with these smells comes a decent showing of a hay smell as well as a bit of dough.
Taste – The taste begins with a sweet caramel and corny taste as one may expect from the nose. Along with these tastes comes some flavors of a malty bready and doughty taste, along with a little bit of a light harvest fruit taste. The sweeter flavors grow more intense in nature toward the end of the taste, and leave one with a rather overly sweet lager taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is light and crisp with a higher carbonation. The feel is great for the style and make this a more approachable and refreshing brew.
Overall – This lager lacks the crisp and clean tastes that a good lager has (at least in my opinion)n. Other then the massive sweetness, it has a decent flavor. All said, the that one quality of high sweetness really detracts from the overall quality. In the end, it is worth a try, but I would guess that most will not be too impressed unless you like a sweeter lager.
