Near opaque black, slight brown highlights at the edges. Dense tan head, good retention and lace
Nice roasty nose, dark chocolate and coffee, a bit of herbal hoppiness peaks through
Heavy roast, a little ashy, but in a good way. Extra dark chocolate. Herbal, piney hoppiness
Medium heavy body, carbonation is spot on
I dig hoppy stouts around this gravity. Wish I could find them more often

Poured from the crowler into a tulip style glass. Crowler filled November 2nd 2018.
Rich lathery filling head, very faded khaki color, almost a brown cream sort of color, real unique. Lathering easily two fingers with good milkshake like retention. Classic opaque body color, very walnut black in color and super dark.
Real nice nose. Soft roasted character, maybe a touch of milk, but a real good burst of dry cocoa powder. Flirts a little char as well. Small sense of big body coming as well.
Taste is pure hop chocolate. Rich tasting dark chocolate and milky sweet tones that get in the mix. Large pine and stinging bitterness on the finish that lingers, flirting with real black IPA territory. Cuts with a good steely bitterness for an excellent contrast, flirting even with a touch of lime. Black bitter chocolate and a milk sweetness like balance for real easy drinking.
What an interesting stout, not quite milk stout, not quite porterish, but very hoppy blurring the lines. More please!
