Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass.
Beaming classic crystal clarity of pale orange and bronze metallic shine. Nice little reams of superfine carbonation, with a clingy rocky bright white three finger head that hangs like a mountain. Rivers of lace and sloped cling grab the edge of the glass real nicely.
Excellent aroma. Old school hinting citrus of orange and grapefruit with a rind and pith sweetness of light sugars on the nose. Crystalized orange skin and rock candy light sugar flavor on the nose makes for a real cool effect.
Palate hits like a wrecking ball. Big thick hits of hop bitterness of rinding citrus fruit. Oily and almost like a coating slick sheen on the palate, as if your tongue is dipped in spiced honey. Some of that kick is some booze, but it's hitting in an interesting way to actually boost more of the hop character. Finishes warm with hot herbs and a menthol kick.
This is a real aggressive amped West coast IPA that hits hard, but it pushes all the right buttons for me.
