Poured from the can into a branded snifter globe like glass.
Faint tain to light brown forming head, with a real creamy appearance. Settles with a fine foam cling, and swiss cheese looking bubbles. Very deep walnut brown, nearly black bodied, but even manages some red to brownish hues as well. Very nice looking stout.
Good solid aroma. Light touches of roasted dark malts, a faint hint of dark chocolate as well. Flirts with a nutty flavor as well just by a touch as well. Minimal hop presence on the nose also.
Palate provides a simple experience. Mild sensing dark chocolate, but more of a real chewy and dark grain roast that comes through. Very light bodied but with a whir of dark flavors. Crushed fresh malt, faint cocoa, mild sensing bitter coffee with a hinting fruit. After finish has excellent tobacco like notes as well, even a touch of charcoal carbon makes it into the mix.
Real nice take on a simple stout, with quite a bit of complexity going on.
