Poured from the can into a branded Astro Lab tulip/globe glass. Canned May 4th 2022.
Deep orange slightly murky yellow, with an opaque appearance and just a hint of fine white carbonation at times. The head is a real nice creamy top of two finger white foam and eggshell presence. Nice rings of lace and island retention, with a good solid puck.
Nice hop forward aroma. Starts of hinting just a little dank, but goes more sweet than earthy. Creamy almost vanilla like sweetness with a cake like note as well that creates a nice change of pace.
Real impressive palate. Chewy and rich body that still hints of bakery dessert like cake and vanilla. The hop angle provides a faint hint of orange to tropical notes but gets into more of a creamy fruit mixture, and then hints of spice. Finish dials the sweetness down to herbal and black pepper small heat to take away some of the richness and bring some nice astringency in. Really nicely balanced, and with great character.
They really hit the angles on this one nicely. Great IPA.
