Poured from the can into a Libbey style pilsner glass.
A real deep dark bronze orange, nearly metallic looking with neat clarity and rising visible carbonation. Big bleach white head, a bit soapy but does make an easy three fingers, with just a little retention. Beautiful looking lager.
This aroma has got it all. Toasty notes of crusty bread, and touches a light sweet caramel as well. Clean with a slight hint towards bock style it seems, with a nice earthy hop angle as well. This smells real inviting.
Palate seems to take some liberties, but succeds nicely. Mid palate is a little bit muted and neutral with a good creamy malt base, but the aftertaste and finish really explode. Crisp toffee and mineral flavors with an almost muddy earth and caramel stew of popping malt and hop flavor. A mix of bock caramel but lighter touches with a clean classic lager finish and mineral earthy romp.
Great neat touch on a lager, and good beer drinking.
