Our bread and butter...if one’s bread and butter can be beer, which it definitely should be if just to make the morning a little more bearable. Roasty aroma with coffee and caramel characters makes it lightly sweet, but with a dry finish of toasted nuts and barley and just a hint of bitterness. Available on nitro as well--less carbonated, creamier head.

Very fresh tasting. Not too sweet, with lots of roasted flavor. Moderate carbonation. Just the right amount if bitterness. One of the best beers I've had in a while.

Canned 08/10
Pours a very small fizzy tan head with lower retention, a bit of lacing, dark basically black beer

Nose is quite strong, lots of roast, big roasted malts like export stout level, a hint of char but not in a bad way, dark coffee and cocoa, baker's chocolate and a little fudgey nougat, creamy, a bit of coffee and cream, then quite nutty

Taste brings lots more roast, not overly roasted but a lot of it, roasted malt, roasted coffee, a bit of coffee and cream but not much, cocoa, dark chocolate, cereal grain, burnt bread crust, mild earthy spicy hop with med bitterness from the hops and roast, getting nutty on the late end again, a bit chocolate covered almond, baking spices, finishes drier with big spicy hop high bitterness lingering

Mouth is med bod, creamy but a bit thick and lush, carb on the lower side

Overall they call this just plain "stout", but I would call it extra stout or export stout or something like that, lots of great roast characters without getting acrid, nice balance, good bitterness on the finish, only real down side was the lower carb

Chocolatey and dry without being too much of either.
Modest foam, bitch black body. Smells mostly of roasted malts. Clearly, most of the balancing bitterness comes from well-roasted malts. Is soft, almost silky, in the mouth. Paired great with a brownie.
