Brauerei Flügge “Éric”
,33L brown glass bottle coded “Mindestens haltbar bis: 04.08.23”. Sampled on 26.09.21
€7,60 @ Naiv, Frankfurt, DE
Notes: In collaboration with Daniel Mattern. Ingredients include rosé wine (33%), raspberry puree (8%), and malted rye.
Look: Clear deep pink/rosé colored body beneath a full head of pinkish-white foam that holds very well. Unfortunately no lacing of any substance remains, just passing spots and splashes as you go.
Smell: As might be expected, it smells of raspberries and rosé wine. It suggests some acidity and mineral character.
Taste: Lightly sweet, and lightly acidic. Tart but not full-on sour. It’s fruity with raspberry upfront and the rosé in the back. It’s not at all bitter but it finishes dry, acidic, fruity, and mineralish.
Feel: Light bodied and gently zesty.
Overall: Here’s another beer to offer your friends that don’t like beer. Admittedly, it is 1/3 wine, but the beer still adds something to it, and you can drink more than you would with wine as this is just 7.4% ABV. A great summer beer, this is both interesting and refreshing.
