Canned 11/17 from the tap. Stored chilled until served chilled on 11/24.
Pours a dark brown that shows a lightly foggy suspension in the liquid when held up to the light. Possible to read large print through it with a bright light. Head is a finger in height and khaki in color. Aroma is lively yeast culture right on the front. Yeast esters mash and fold together with banana, clove, nutmeg, and dark fruits. There are tinges of bready and toasty malts. It smells like a big name Belgian Saison or two, just bumped down one notch. Bready, toasty malts comprise the opening of the flavor profile, with a dense hurricane of yeast esters, clove, banana, and nutmeg whirling in afterwards. Mouth feel maintains a slight fuzz in the texture, which combines well with the medium thickness. It's an approachable thickness for a Belgian saison, keeping it from landing at 'meal thick'. Overall, a flavorful, approachable Belgian saison. Not super nuanced like some others, but comprising a quality breadth of notes making it a great value.
Served in a 12oz snifter from a 12oz can.
