Wild Turkey Bourbon and Rye Barrel Aged Stout with Strawberry, Cocoa Nibs, and Vanilla.
After spending an average of 13 months aging in bourbon and rye barrels, a dark chocolate and wheat heavy base beer gradually evolved into a rainbow of flavors consisting of baker’s chocolate, toasted oak, and roasted pecans.
We then gave this decadent brew the full Neapolitan treatment, with additions of Strawberry, Ghanaian Cocoa Nibs, and Madagascar Vanilla beans. As a result, The Black Rainbow takes on a flavor profile of melted Neapolitan ice cream sandwiches while still layering in all the flavors of the barrels that it had rested in.

500 ml bottle into a snifter. A 2023 release, had 11/18/23.
Pours a dark brown, opaque, oily and thick looking, with no head and a light oily smear on the glass. Aromas of bourbon, rye whiskey, vanilla, chocolate, some oak, some strawberry when warmed, light char. Flavors of rye whiskey, vanilla, bourbon, chocolate, malt, light strawberry. Smooth, a little creamy, a very good full body, appropriately carbonated.
Lots of vanilla and chocolate, was glad that the bourbon and rye barrels were still prominent- and tasty. The strawberries raise their hand, but couldn’t keep up with the other add- ins. Overall, a solid effort and very enjoyable.
