Very light amount of white head. Very dark and opaque brown color. Light and slightly sweet, spiced caramel and medium dark roast barley malt aroma. Rather thin, dark roasted barley malt and a bit of dark roast grains, makes up the taste.

easily the better of the two beers i had in here, a classically styled porter, fairly robust in terms of dark malt character, but its also rather drinkable with a smoother body and a very modest alcohol content. i thought this was pretty well done, although its pretty to style, like there isnt a lot of points of difference or interest really, just a lot of roast, enough bitterness to balance whatever sweetness isnt quite fermented out, and with a sort of slick feel, a neutral fermentation profile, and a light smoke aspect. they did offer a vanilla version of this that has a shot of their house made cream soda in it, which was delicious but diabetic, but without that, its pretty standard fare. it makes an excellent morning beer through, as it has some obvious coffee character to it, and its an easy one to get up and running with. while this may be fairly generic, it is obviously well made, and this is a really neat taproom in which to enjoy it. good tunes, good people, solid beers, no complaints!
