This was consumed at Strange Brew 2018 in May @ Brewer's Cabinet in Reno. Its a golden stout with raspberries, coffee and marshmallow.
Does indeed have the appearance of a golden beer. Smallish 1/5" white head. Aroma of chocolate and raspberries, the coffee wasn't there much for me. But it definitely smelled different than the appearance would generally lead you to believe. Pastry stout aroma in a golden ale appearance.
Taste is definitely sweet, but there is a degree of those pale malts and relatively high carbonation (for a stout) that have a degree of normal 'beer' to them so that this isn't a total abdication of what the general public tends to think of as a 'beer'. I believe the marshmallow is what is contributing the vanilla like sweet and smoothness to the beer.
I haven't been exactly impressed with their hoppy beers (or any of them in general really) but this was one of the better beers at Strange Brew.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
