Wine Barrel Aged Farmhouse Saison w/ Pears, Honey, & locally grown Green Szechuan.
The first collaboration we ever produced with our buds at Percent Tap House. Brewed in June 2020, it kickstarted a friendship forged in the middle of a pandemic. As this beer slumbered in barrels over 29 months in oak, our friendship grew as we traveled down the road that led us to become more like family.
We're honored to continuously collab with this lovely crew.

A: Pours a very lightly hazy medium to dark honey in color with light to moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising quickly from the bottom of the glass and moderate brassy + copper + burnt orange colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall fizzy foamy off-white head that quickly reduces to an extremely thin ring at the edges of the glass. Minimal amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of pale + slightly sour wheat malts with minimal amounts of honey sweetness and moderate aromas of tart lemon citrus lacto. Moderate aromas of earthy funkiness and moderate aromas of light fruit/pear. Hints of spicy yeast + green Szechuan peppercorns and light to moderate aromas of oak.
T: Upfront there are slightly stronger than moderate aromas of pale + slightly sour wheat malts with minimal amounts of honey sweetness and moderate aromas of tart lemon citrus lacto. That is followed by moderate flavors of earthy funkiness and moderate aromas of light fruit/pear. Finally there are light flavors of spicy yeast + green Szechuan peppercorns and light to moderate flavors of oak. No perceptible hop presence and no bitterness. Moderate amounts of lingering tartness.
M: Just shy of medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Moderate to heavy amounts of acidic prickliness.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a lighter mouthfeel with enough acidic prickliness. Enjoyable with a nice complexity of tart, sour, and funky aspects complemented with pear, honey, and green Szechuan peppercorns.
