Deep, clear, dark brown pour, opaque in the glass; thin khaki colored head, partially creamy in texture; thin veil of foam encircles the glass after each sip. Powerful nose of dark malts and grains with a nice blend of woody port wine and a touch of maple syrup. Incredibly tasty beer; milk chocolate; sweet cocoa; port; barrel wood; fairly intense booziness but not overpowering. Heavy mouthfeel; dense and slick; bold residual sugar smoothness; somewhat lively alcohol heat.

The beer is phenomenal! It is a blend of barleywine and imperial stout with some finesse with the barrel aging of the two different beers. There is no mention of adjuncts used with either source beer, so this one oozes taste and warmth and is a testament to great beer brewing and barrel aging skills.
