This medium-bodied American Wheat Ale is brewed with sweet potatoes, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, allspice, and cloves. Taste and enjoy with us one of our favorite things about fall.

On the malty side, kinda sweet but not overwhelmingly so. No specific flavors jumps out to me. It is however very carbonated, like I'm drinking gas. Overall it is ok, but very forgettable.

12oz bottle, shared with my brother-in-law, Chris. Thanks to Chris & Lilli for giving me a bottle to try. Pours a hazy orange with a beige head. Spicy aroma of clove, nutmeg, cinnamon, all spice, and ginger. Flavors are spicy as well - all similar to the aroma; sweet potato is modest along with faint wheat and grain. Medium body, moderate carbonation, balanced finish. Just ok. Drinks like a pumpkin beer.

Pours a clear copper color. 1/4 inch head of an off-white color. Poor retention and poor lacing. Smells of cinnamon, nutmeg, sweet malt, and pumpkin/sweet potato. Fits the style of a Fruit / Vegetable Beer. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of cinnamon, all spice, sweet malt, and pumpkin/sweet potato. Overall, poor appearance, good feel, and mostly spice in aroma and body.

A twelve ounce bottle with some cryptic code stamped on the bottle under the label. I hate when breweries just can't put a simple date on the bottle or label. Pouring this in my old school Atlas Prager sham pilsner glass.

Look- Pours a dark gold and somewhat amber color leaving a couple centimeters of off white foam that settles to a thin ring. No lacing is left behind.

Smell- A mix of strong pie spices including cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice that combined smell a bit like mouthwash. There's something earthy lingering in the back. Sweet potatoes?

Taste- An abundance of the usual pie spices. There's cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg. Something earthy and cereal-like appear in the finish.

Feel- Thin, flat and boring.

Overall- It's not quite a drain pour, but close. This beer is spiced to the point that it smells and tastes like mouthwash or toothpaste. A thin artificial tasting abomination. I'm glad it was a gift and not a waste of my money.

This beer pours a nice dark iced tea color with a fleeting head of only 1/2 finger, then a thin ring. 30% transparency.

Aroma is actually much like a Pumpkin ale, with cinnamon, yam, gourd, and nutmeg. It does smell delicious, like a baked pumpkin pie.

The spice flavors are there, namely cinnamon and nutmeg, followed by citrus peel, sweet potato, and pumpkin filling. The citrus (lemon, orange rind) sort of clashes, and malts begin to wax metallic. Finishes on what I can only say is like juicy fruit gum and day old cola.

The feel is highly carbonated and appropriately so; a medium body and a slightly chalky finish.

Overall, Sweet Potato Ale isn't too bad though it's not great either. Had I bought a six pack, I wouldn't cry. It's easy drinking. It just has a lot to be desired where the clashing comes in.
