At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 473mL in a pint glass. From the Huron Church Rd. LCBO in nearby Windsor. Canned December 19/25. My 3rd beer from the Guelph, Ontario brewery, and 1st for 2026. Wildly acceptable to and beloved by Gracie the cat...

Poured a 473ml can into a pint glass. A one finger fine white head on a cloudy apricot.. Good head retention. Lots of fine lacing.
Fruit and citrus in the nose. Bready malts in the taste. A mixed bad of fruit flavours. Tangerine? A very mild hop finish.
A medium /light body and light carbonation. A very smooth IPA. Light and refreshing. Not one of my top styles but I found it overall very pleasant.

I got a can of this beer from LCBO Store in Fort Frances, Ontario whilst there for my son's hockey showcase. It poured a clear golden with fizzy white head that dissipated quickly and did not leave much lace. The scent had subtle grain and subtle bitter citrus notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with crisp malt base with grain and hints of bitter orange presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Jan 20 2022 and served slightly chilled.
Pours a foggy golden-yellow with lots of visible sediment; situated atop is more than an inch of rocky, foamy, sparkling white head that fades within several minutes or so. It deposits an attractive curtain of lace in its wake, as well as a wide, creamy collar and lumpy cap - looks good to me. Mango and peach on the nose, with suggestions of mandarin orange, passion fruit and berries.
Not bad; I'm getting bready, grainy pale malts backed by notes of white grapefruit, stone fruit and mango. The back end starts out pithy, trending towards a more floral, earthy, bitter character at the finish, followed by an off-dry aftertaste with lingering suggestions of peach skin. Light-medium in body, with aggressive carbonation that prickles and prods continuously, scrubbing the palate with each sip. I found this light-ish IPA to be very drinkable, and wouldn't have minded another.
Final Grade: 3.64, a B grade. Fixed Gear's Breakaway IPA is a serviceable Ontario IPA that I'd consider returning to in the future, but probably wouldn't go out of my way for. Its fruity flavours are nice, but nothing out of the ordinary for the style - the sort of beer that's fine to drink, but lacking memorable features that might compel me to buy another. Worth trying at least once, if you happen upon a fresh can.

Can from the brewery, pours a clear yellow-gold with a 1 finger cap....aromas of biscuit malts, citrus and light sweetness....well rounded character, balanced and malty...flavor is biscuity-malty in front with citrus tang and light bittering, very light malt sweetness....finish is clean and balanced with a citrus edge....very mellow malt-forward IPA, not for die hard alpha acid freaks but very drinkable with refreshing maltiness not common in IPAs. I liked it.

A flagship IPA advertised in the New England style. The can itself suggests a juicy, hazy affair with flavours of mango, pineapple and peach. The initial pour was promising, as the colour is on point for the style and the appearance is borderline opaque. Checks the haziness box. Unfortunately, everything else about the beer is underwhelming. Noticeable lack of the advertised citrus fruits. Tastes like a murky pilsner more than anything, or perhaps a hopped lager. Mildly pleasant experience after the initial disappointment (I drank it), but far from a good east coast style IPA. More of an old school west coast IPA, but lacking the malt backbone. Would not purchase again.
